Disciplined, spirited, and committed study of Voluntary Architectural Simplicity, as one possible design
response to the major challenges confronting us individually, socially and globally. The studio investigates
the connections between VAS and Spirituality in light of Thomas Merton's teachings and the inspiration
of the beauty and culture of the four-corners area of the United States.
