This graduate design studio advances skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to operate in the space between architecture, culture and spirituality. In this occasion, we will investigate the relationships between nature, everyday life, and spirituality as they are facilitated through architecture.  We will focus on how the phenomenology of buildings creates opportunities for elevating our realization of the ordinary as a path to the transcendent. This inquiry will be done under a premise of voluntary simplicity and the insights and experience of master architect Eliana Bórmida— the 2014 Walton Critic.
